{The Start of a Happy New Year}

Helloooo, ladies! (And gents, if you’re reading).

Happiest of New Years to you and yours! We made it through the supposed “End of the World”, although I am sure many will agree there were obvious signs of it:

  • One Direction is a thing.
  • K-Stew R-Pats Drama a Million.
  • Did I mention One Direction happening?

Made this lovely wrapping paper for my sister Grace’s obsession.

Alas, every day is new, and I am thankful to be starting a new year. Everyone always talks about how amazing THIS year is going to be. We’ve all seen the dramatic Facebook posts,

“It doesn’t matter what happened in 2012, this is my year! I am letting go of all negative people, biyatches (you know who you are). Suck it, 2012!”

“Tomorrow I am never eating another carb, so here’s to my last cupcake ever. #gohard2013 (Insta pic)”

“It was the best of times, it was the worst of times…”

But really, I know that 2013 is going to be great because starting tomorrow Stephen and I will officially be living in the same city. We have been dating for 2 1/2 years- long distance the entire time- so this is truly a blessing. I am so excited to be embarking on a new aspect of our relationship: Being A Normal Couple. For example, “Hey, wanna go to the movies in an hour?”, just because we can. All of you cynics can stop rolling your eyes and thinking things like, “Talk to me in two months when you’ve had enough”. You cannot stomp on my 2013 happiness.

One of my resolutions (among many) is to get back into this here blog. I love writing so much, and I have been lax and busy beyond belief. I have every intention of getting back into full swing like I did in the beginning. So hold me to it. I also want to continue bringing the latest and greatest (in my humble opinion) from the health, fashion, and beauty world.

My first nugget of  advice for the new year: invest in a BB Cream. If you don’t have one, get one. I love the stuff, and have replaced my previously-sworn Bare Minerals for Maybelline’s Dream Fresh 8-in-1 BB. You have to at least give it a try. IT’S ONLY $7.44 at Target.

You’re welcome.

I still use a moisturizer under it, but that’s just me. Another favorite is Mac’s BB Cream. More expensive at around $30, but it’s great as well. Don’t ask me what a CC cream is I haven’t even tried to look, because it just sounds like a ripoff of BB Cream success. [See: Marketing Tool.]

All right, I think that’s enough for today. I hope you are all experiencing a joyful start to the new year, and I can’t wait to share mine with you via In Her Twenties. Make sure you stay tuned for some of our new and exciting changes to the site.

Smile, pretty girl!

xo,

Katie
